The term Uttuk Xul has been translated, by some, as Vampire- but it's not my belief this is correct... In my opinion, it has something to do with the yarrow plant- it's special virtue, potency and perhaps occult significance! Possibly sensationalism for gain is behind such translations- whatever; I'm not sure. Another example of such sensationalism was attributing Choronzon as being a demon, among those of the early "occult revival" as it has been called!

Welcome to the forum! A very interesting name, it sounds Egyptian to me for some reason. Im also intrigued about your connections from UttukXul to yarrow. A long history has been recorded with this plant, and world wide as well. Here is just a few quotes from wiki for those who arent acquainted. Hope to hear from you soon.

Thank You... It's great to have this machine apparently talk back to me! Although I lived right in that Sumer-Akkad area, thousands of years ago (in a former life), I won't say I really have any memory of language there, in consequence. Vague memories, perhaps, of a yearly Myleita Festival- I've contrasted the current very straight-laced profile of our society, currently, in humourous comments! A very revolutionary event, of course, was the overthrow of Lugalzagesi, by Sharrukin. The pre WWII german Thule society was in error, if they believed that the term Sumerian is related to Sumarran- the latter came from a doomed planet and founded Ultima Thule, on Hyperborea; no relation to the sumerians; no ancestral relation to any of us, either. Not to be confused with those who came here, under the same sort of natural constraint, from the planet Atlantis.

Yarrow is a very virtuous herb, I agree- these translations are, I think, all correct, except for the first, regarding Chinese esteem for yarrow and tortoise-shell as being lucky- I believe Ragweed is the correct, here. Uttuq Xul is actually the best spelling- Xul means a divinity, such as associated with the yarrow plant- here though Spirit is probably best. If I were to have a Leitmotif for this screen name, I would choose the opening musical theme from Tales From The Darkside, that old series- which consists of just four ascending ringing notes, moving down a half-step, then back up again... This might bring to my mind I Ching chapter 36, called Darkening Of The Light- in a Dark, or faulted Aeon, light or enlightenment which individuals have often should best be kept hidden from the Over People, who are repressive and despotic, as the text explains! Those who have Knowledge might be esteemed as evil, or witches, such times. The King's New Clothes myth seems to hint at this sort of situstion, too. There must be a relation between the yarrow spirit and divining, I figure, as the Chinese seem to assert. The numerology of Uttuq Xul, by the method I think best, is 1,480... This suggests The Three Of Cups, called Abundance...

I should write something about my claim that the Chinese, traditionally, have prized Ragweedas lucky- in which I claimed that this is a better translation than Yarrow! Ragweed causes a lot of people trouble, today- I think the chief reason for this is a curse affliction, from Nature, for those who have a certain type of ancestry... ancestors who were very violent, and shed a lot of blood. I think an example of such ancestry is the tribe of those who were called Magyars- it's asserted by historians that they delighted in bloodshed, and would even drink the blood of their enemies! This is an holistic reading regarding the matter- there has been, I assume, no scientific research studies on this. This condition can last for more than seven generations- I've known about curses or afflictions which last Seven Generations- this is one reason why incestuous births are so taboo! In a higher quality civilization, doctors would have a way of detecting such genes, and reproduction would be forbidden for such! I believe this is more an issue than is commonly appreciated! Purveyors of such offspring are damned; cannot be redeemed by descendants, involved in Work For The Dead- and I don't think the possibility of Salvation opens up after just seven generations!
