To start there was a shooting at a mall in my current city, Portland, OR, Dec/12/12. It happened at Clackamas town center. Luckily he made a lot of stupid mistakes, which potentially saved a lot of lives. Despite all of this 2 people were still killed in the horrid act and all my prayers go to their families.
For me Dec 14th 2012 is extremely hard to talk about, or even think about. To explain I have a son the same age as all of the children that were wounded and killed that day.
Early morning in Chengpeng village in China a man went into a primary school and stabbed and wounded 22 children and an elderly woman. As far as I can find out they have arrested the suspected stabber. He claimed he was freaking out about the world ending (makes no sense to stab children and an old lady). There was also a previous statement heard from the assailant, that he had heard it could get him on TV. These victims are true heroes, and all my prayers and hopes go to them to heal from this disgusting act.
Early morning in New Town Connecticut a man broke his way into a school killing 26 people, 20 of which were children in the first grade. He had an assault rifle with multiple clips holding rounds designed to shrapnel. He had more guns in his car and had a lot more planned. I thank God and the people that helped, that it wasn't. All my prayers and strength go to the parents and families of these victims, I can't fathom the pain.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
These assailants all had mental disorders or issues, and a massive lack of guidance with those. Mental health has always been a big importance to me. I try to help (usually too much) wherever I can. I wonder how many more children need to die or get hurt for governments to realize universal healthcare is necessary for a nation to work right.
People need to all be on the same page, and the current systems provide so many pages you can sidestep anything and pretend to be anyone. It's just now we have seen the worse of these consequences.
