A little while back, I posted comments on music I think messianic- I mentioned The Worchester Fragments; these reflect the ardent spirituality of that epoch... I explained, I think especially in the Agnus Dei, which I don't find on any available recording (!?) A chief focus there, I believe, is surrounding what some have called the Vision Of Sorrow. 'There are no survivors on this earth" is a religious saying we sometimes find, profound. Knowing Death, or attaining to the ministry of the One Who Knows Death (probably the same as Saphaeiah Achmoth of the gnostics) is naturally a main focus of such preceptors during an Age Of Pisces, which we've just left.
"Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans..." -John Lennon
Note: The spelling "Saphaeiah"- usually we see "Sophia"- adds up to the number 41, said to be her number...

The great Christian adepts and mystics, accordingly, developed the technique of getting the soul, or awareness, out of the body, as there is no better preparation for death, actually; it's for other reasons, too! This is actually more of a chief focus with Sufism, Anahad Yogis, and those who would simply term it Soul Travel- as Paul Twitchel, Saint Germaine and others have pointed out, in their teachings.
I think a primary religious influence; the subtle color, or effect of John Lennon's extremely nice song "Beautiful Dreamer" would probably most correctly be cited as Rinzai Zen...

awesome thread!
there are a few aspects to this thought. Being aware out of your body is important but to is having that energy being focused. With things similar to the "diamond sutra", refining the direction a soul will take. This I see like spiritual goals, or landmarks.
