The fields of the classical Arts in America have been dangerous for involvement with, and I believe with the New Aeon it's getting even more dangerous- people will do well to be circumspect and wise, in reference to any involvement. I believe I'm correct, that the constraint and admonition this epoch is serious enough that, to use some traditional religious terminology, the Destroyer Angel warns that major loss, disaster, even tragedy may await those who make unwise, or even less wise decisions in this! Many of the suicide tragedies have been of those who, perhaps college age in the 60s or early 70s, went all out for something like classical piano- they didn't have that special "marking" of vocational election, which so extremely few have; were optimistic about opportunities in the field of teaching, perhaps. "There's always teaching" was a chief consensus social attitude. Some fooled themselves that they could always get a job as an accompianist with a great singer, violinist, or something like that. This optimism turned out to be unfounded. Many didn't realize their reputations included actually being a musician-onanist; there usually weren't any women interested in them! Some who were gay died of AIDS- not a few, I think. Chosen Ones of such fields have special endowment due to good karma and experience or a blessing from the Pre-Natal, generally. Only these Chosen Ones really can make money performing, generally! The Vanity of many such job seekers has often proven disasterous or fatal. To rescue themselves, often radical measures would be indicated, for example a comprehensive dissimulation with the entire scene, clique, etc... Some think a small success of some sort will serve as a permanent reputation-booster for them; they would be wiser to keep whatever that is secret, such as a part in a musical, a dancer, or whatever. These are Games Of Chance which people play; it's often very much like a gambling addiction, in fact!

Well, after I wrote this, I either pondered or didn't-ponder for a good while... For a little while I considered, there must be some aspect, facet or phase of these matters that I don't fully understand... Impressions I have, however, are definitely relevant, I'm sure- someone who's been involved with that scene finds wisdom in repelling from it (similar to how a mountain climber repells)- he may then become like a person on a raft, on a lake, who has left a populated settlement along the shore... first, as American, he might encounter and consider another "island", the negro music. I think the European composer Dvorak, or Smetna made a comment that the American composer should draw from the negro heritage, whether he was being serious or not. For this aeon especially, I think he should repell from that, also, however; not listen, avoid, even banish the influence (The Angelic Calls Of Enoch are very good for banishing); not that there wasn't some good stuff, some decades ago, when I think some increase in warmth was indicated... The American indian musical works are indigenous, of this land- an American could turn his attention to shamanism; to music rudiments and basics. Many are beginning to believe the mixture together of whites and blacks is an unfortunate combination; I advise again, the mixture with native Indians would not involve any misfortune as from the very subtle or sublime aspects. Many of the serious afflictions from Nature we've experienced are due to negligence, in the matter of dealings with the indians. This concords with the belief that only descendants of European immigrants and Amerindians are the truly natural citizens, basically. Because a violent, bloody breaking off with Europe was chosen, many gifts of European civilization seem hard to receive or claim, perhaps as a repercussion of the inappropriate level of violence in procuring independence!

There is always insights with any discussion, and always many with you. I had picked up you were missing some aspects from the first post, as did you. I will fill you in on what i know.
The traditional music field is a competitive nightmare. My sister has 8 years of piano performance from the best music schools in the world. She is now a lawyer from a separate 2 year degree. But think about this, what modern famous piano player can you name right now? I know the field and i cant even tell you one. The only thing in modern society it can offer is becoming a teacher and not a performer at all. Symphonies are a dying breed. Ask her husband, traditional upright bass player once at Vancouver B.C. symphony. Now almost a DR.
With untraditional music most of it is produced before the performer. As in bands are created to fit a preconditioned performance. There is also the natural born talent. However this does not always make it anywhere because allot of musical success depends on who you know.
