This has got to be a very sensitive issue in America, use of liquor- I think, most probably, it is to varying degrees, less sensitive in countries which Maiden Fortune loves more; in America, Fortune is going to be strict with people, generally, about things- people who hold a job could endanger their tenancy if they drink much, for example! We have these sick, deluded, pitiful people, the AA- but, in social kindness, we could say that they are people who have had incredibly bad experiences, with alcohol! Fortune threatening, Fortune devastating- even life-threatening experiences, perhaps! Fortune tends to be strict with this people as regards intoxicants, generally; frequency and quantity- if these could be determined perfectly, this would be the absolute best thing... The natural para-development of Fortune, called Hlaakshmi in the East, is Great-Fortune, Khamala, or Maha-Hlaakshmi- she is the devi of pleasure, enjoyment, prosperity, pastime... Those whom Fortune blesses may obtain a blessing from Great-Fortune, too! Most americans are working at the level of trying to obtain better Fortune; havent moved up to the level of Great-Fortune, perhapsy. The primary reason for weak Fortune in America is the bad decisions made by the ruling and controlling people, beginning with the inappropriately bloody, violent American Revolution- for which bale Fortune has cursed this country, from the foundational!
The use of liquor, in the East, by those on a developmental spiritual path, such as Yogis, has been noted- they have a bowl of liquor which they drink, in conjunction with yoga practice, generally. This is religious drinking, not social drinking- the latter is basically a mediocre attempt to integrate liquor into lives, for those who are not really Special Elect Of Wisdom... However, a group of people, earmarked for each other from the Sublime, could drink together... The First Principle of Raja Yoga is explained, on a different Path- that of shamanism- as Stopping The Internal Dialogue- we have a constant inner dialogue with ourselves, which serves to prevent attainment, realization, enlightenment, transformation, inspiration, etc.; we are Blabmeisters, internally! The term "Garbage-Can Minds" has been used by an acquaintance of mine... The intellect has become like an overgrown bush, which needs pruning- this is actually the first step of Raja Yoga! Next, one can achieve Concentration, or One Pointedness of Mind... Prayer, extremely popular, generally addresses the First Issue, here, only- can possibly be effective, in that. Alcohol, intoxicants stop this Internal Dialogue- that is a chief reason why shaman gurus, especially, often introduce their apprentices to some intoxicant- the addiction to Internal Dialogue is so intense that only radical means can contravene it, they surmise...
The portent for use of alcohol is different for different people- this is a clincher issue; people should best know how to determine such matters; should bow under the yoke of discipline enforced by the Justice Department- and then bow, a little more; don't even straddle that line of legality, as regards drinking and driving- best!
