That was indeed a great tragedy, by which many were greatly saddened- the accidental death of Princess Diana... What I think happened was that the driver of the vehicle- the chauffeur- had a major infatuation, or "crush" on the very nice- and popular- woman; had made no conscious decision, as regards a suicide/reckless homicide , but had some such volition, on the subliminal consciousness level; was incautious- actually quite careless- in substance usage, including alcohol- as it happened, this worked itself out, tragically.
On the topic of subliminal will towards suicide, I think this is not uncommon- I've known some people who have been careless about something, which has led to death... The popular singer, the lead singer for The Doors, who died from an opiate overdose in France- I think he had such a subliminal suicide wish, due to the difficulty in creative songwriting, of coming up with another smash hit, such as "Light My Fire"; as also, but on the level of conscious volition, and for the same basic reason, the lead singer of the rock group INXS.
