The teaching on The Ogdru Jahad, or Seven Gods Of Chaos, are attributed to fictional creation by H.P. Lovecraft... that is, in the consensus scholarly opinion poll. The Insightful should think, there's something that has an odour of authenticity, here- and that is what I will say, that these teachings are authentic, and of ancient date; revealed through Aleister Crowley, the seer/translator (Tibetan: Tertoen)- he got some authentic writings "out of the Blue", as some might say! Crowley passed them on to Lovecraft, who in reference to some fantasy developments on the doctrinal themes, is blameless in reference to plagiarism or sacrilege. However, I don't believe that the perpetrator of a more recent fiction works, called Hellboy, is blameless for his perversion or over-fantastical developments on the material; enacts for himself in this way a negative karmic debt! He also perverts other doctrines, such as those from the Arthurian legend. In my opinion, The Seven Archangels Of Chaos might be more correct, for Ogdru Jahad- and not fallen archangels, at all, as the sensationalists tend to assert! Not evil, in other words- unless you are using the term "evil" in that tongue-in-cheek way that some gurus do... Chaos is the very primordial reality, which exists before aeons perhaps better understood by religious people- the Aeon Of Chaos is perhaps a Root Aeon; Crowley was directing people back to Roots; to root religion not based on Guilt, Original Guilt, etc....
Crowley also revealed a version of Necronomicon, different from the one that John Dee revealed, similarly- Dee had this gift, or ability, also. I think that scholars do incur some karmic penalty by persistently denying this truth- it would certainly appear difficult for them to explain these matters; integrate it into their teaching programs...
The use of sensationalism for gain, as for example in the tradition stemming from the
Occult Revival of a century or so ago, is remarkable. There is some Black Magic in the Necronomicon, true- some of the writings are actually sacred, though! Choronzon is not a demon but an angel, etc....
