Freud founded a vocational school, that which was dubbed "Psychoanalysis" or "Psychotherapy"- he had a lot of experience observing mentally and emotionally ill people, and his writings drew attention to the phenomena. He didn't really have a good foundation stone, for the building of a new vocational tradition- high intelligence coupled with a feeling of "eliteness" characterized this School, as it began to take off- the feeling of eliteness didn't really have a veracious foundation, though! Some of those, of this new vocation, kind of resembled some sort of Trenchcoat Mafia. One of the most revolutionary, not adhering closely to the original tenets, was of course Wilhelm Reich, also jewish like Freud. Some of his ideas were excellent, such as regarding Orgone Energy (confirmed by the Holistic Health School of today). He was like a revolutionary Trencoat Mafio person, however- I believe it's much more likely he went to Hell than is in heaven as a self-martyr, as some say... It's true the society was too sex-repressed; undersexed- basically true of most of today's society also- but there are certain fundamental issues which he did not have enough reverence for, in his personal life.
"Freud (and Pavlov's) methods and theories both were wrong; he was not a spiritual Master" stated Paul Twitchell. In my opinion the controversial L. Ron Hubbard was actually a spiritual master- born that way. He had the "keys" actually, which Freud's followers should have had. Relatedly, according to some disputed inference, Aleister Crowley actually was, as he claimed "A Buddha, with the marks of such from birth"... (This does not mean an Avatar however). In addition to Hubbard, I'll mention a certain School of Transformational Psychology, as having the "keys". Psychiatrists today can perform an important function in society perhaps- people develop serious psychological illnesses, or are struggling to overcome some flaw. Some are dangerous. There have been some gifted with the ability of helping people get in touch with and express emotions. They are like legal officers; like Freud they usually have perceptivity. Psychoanalysis/therapy has existed from very ancient times; was had in Egypt, according to Cayce's material.
